Work from the creative team Edhv, using nature to create type. As the video progresses the viewer watches the radish grow, generating the intriguing and effective type. Also created using grass and basil.

Nice work from Emma Smart. An installation recreating a working design studio, encouraging designers to create away from their computer. I feel this is a very important factor for creating intriguing and innovative designs, Smart communicates this in a playful way. 

Memories of the dinner table

Work I created to highlight the importance of families eating around the dinner table. From collecting a range of responses related to families eating around the dinner table enabled me to form the ‘memories of the dinner table’ tablecloth. The tablecloth presents the generic floral pattern seen on many old fashioned tablecloths. 

The floral pattern is created from the responses people gave when asked about memories a of the dinner table and what they talk about at the dinner table with their family. These responses, some warming and many humorous highlight the delight and the great communication that is generated from this place when shared with family and friends. Along with the title ‘memories of the dinner table’ and the old fashioned floral pattern communicates the idea that the amount of families eating around the dinner table is decreasing, due to our fast lane and hectic lifestyles that we live today.

Above,  my task was to take two different objects, and find a way to blend aspects of the two different entities in a creative and original way. I took the objects 'flower' and 'bed' to create the message of the flowers growing out of the bed, an image normally related to the context of a garden. 

Reducing a student's carbon footprint

A campaign to promote how a university student can reduce their carbon footprint. The canvas bag package contains a washing line kit, encouraging the student to hang their washing out. Printed onto the pegs are tips and facts related to reducing the students’ carbon footprint.

The package also includes some underwear for the student, encouraging the student to ‘air their smalls in public’ as shown by placing the washing line and pants in a town centre.

As I'm still in student land all the ladies in the family received a little handmade gift for an additional Christmas present. Using left over bits of material, with a peg attached to the back to hold a photo, post or notes.
